These examples seem to suggest that sites are mostly temporary. Its Latin root Situs functions as both position, location but also ontological situation. Situs can refer to status or state of being. Objects and people can occupy a temporary sense of situs.
One way I might approach thinking about what this site is would be to observe how it behaves as a site (as location and state of being). What am I doing here but also, how does this site inhabit me, possess me into ____ situs?
The site is a domain I am renting. All I’ve known is rent and temporary habitations. Putting down roots that never caught.
Is a mangrove a site if it’s roots are planted off-ground? Is a book a site? Is a document a site?
This site is composed of documents. The documents start at the root. The root has no fixed geography. No state, no nation, only sites.1
The site is me at my computer. The site is me and my cameras. The site is where my archive is stored. Make no mistake SITE ≠ HOME.
The site is the place of an action. These actions are transmitted or pushed to dispatches of global distribution.
The site is where the loophole begins. Here I am on one side pushing things into the .net (network) of loopholes that cross borders.
I’ve been thinking about how I might be able to make films as fast as thought, or as immediate and simultaneous as when thoughts arise a film is already in process. The film is finished at the moment the camera is put down, there is no editing after, there is no refinement in post. Everything occurs in-camera, the images, the voice over, the montage is committed by impulse without the possibility to undo.
Is the site a laboratory? Is the site a hallucination? Is it the site of collapsing memory?
It is not about any singular film but rather to excercise play. When making these films, I avoid thinking of their future. To me they are student films. This is helped by capturing at low resolutions like 480p or 720p. The small file sizes give them mobility too, and are passed between devices with such ease through airdrop or messaging apps. I imagine that in their tinyness, they slip through systems of surveillance undetected.

Tape 1 - Video 0001-0003
In this initial set are three camera-less videos composed with a video mixer's internal colors, masks, and transitions. These videos emerged as recorded equipment tests, where I improvise switching between channels, playing with the fader to cut1 between signal paths.
When the tape is engaged it is accompanied with the word play, a reminder that these buttons are an instrument that registers the impulses of temporal gestures. These gestures trigger changes on the screen that feedback through the body and regenerated as reaction.
Sound and image interact with each other. I activate the infrared sensor of this Alesis Airsynth2 with the body heat of my foot while simultaneously operating the video mixer with my hands. I imagine it is like operating a train.
The eye registers and recalibrates its aperture and each color slide produces a sense of perceptual intermittence3
Those days I thought about a cosmology of cinema, video4 in terms of seeing, and cameras5 that mediate perception, impulse, optics, movement, UV light, EM radiation and stars.
